Here are two exceptional peices of music from two crucial figures in contemporary composition. Composers Mica Levi and Duval Timothy combine for a special limited edition split release via NTS.
For her contribution, Levi has us in awe, interlacing the delicate strands of pizzicato strings and plaintive pipes. On Timothy equally arresting piece, he weaves together a colourful soundscape that moves from reverb-laden guitar to field recordings and wistful piano notes.
‘DYE’ follows Timothy’s 2018 EP 2 Sim. ‘Hosting’ comes off the back of Levi’s scores for Alejandro Landes’ film Monos and Jonathan Glazer’s short film The Fall.
