For their 7th release, Olindo Records drop the labels first 12” EP featuring music by London-based producer and DJ Koichi Sakai.

This EP comes as a lead up to Sakai’s first LP, ‘Wono’, set for release towards the end of the year. If you’re not familiar with Sakai, he’s a well-known head in London music circles thanks to his role in co-founding the legendary Afrobeat Vibration nights alongside Dele Sosimi.

The 3-track release finds Sakai accompanied by Afla Sackey, Mao Yamada, Yuval Juba Wetzelr and Sosimi.

We’ve already sampled a taste of the EP with his vibrant take on Babatunde Olatunji’s dancefloor workout ‘Jingo’.

On the flip side of the release, you’ll find remixes of the album’s title track from by the one and only Yoruba Soul (Osunlade) and Pocz which we’re featuring below.

Venezuela producer Pocz aka Carlos Mayoral creates a funked up, Latin flavoured version of the original featuring a brand new bassline and jazzy synths. There’s an element of urgency to the synth sounds that nestles nicely alongside the groovy bass and the uplifting vocals of Sackey.
