Super happy and excited to be the first to share this one with you! Koichi Sakai & Afla Sackey return with a moog-driven highlife song guaranteed to lift your spirit above the clouds. The pair give us another taste from their forthcoming full-length album on Olindo Records, set for release this March.
Following the release of last year’s ‘Wono’ EP, Koichi Sakai and Afla Sackey are back on Olindo with ‘Suolo’, a track that perfectly encapsulates the positive vibes of their collaboration. ‘Suolo’ means ‘My Love’ in Ga. Sackey plays a traditional-style melody on a Ghanaian ngoni and he also programmed the bassline with a moog modular synth and Doepfer sequencer. With the addition of Mao Yamada’s tight guitar riff and Juba Wetzler’s skilful drums, the pair have ultimately crafted a totally unique and contemporary take on highlife music. This is another quality track from the pair, and the LP is shaping up to be an absolute stomper. Give ‘Suolo’ a spin below.
