Producer and drummer Silvan Strauss has already made his presence known in the German jazz scene with his many accolades and accomplishments. Namely, being Hamburg’s Jazz Prize Winner in 2021 and the success of his debut album “FACING“ during the same year.

However, while his career is at its prime, Silvan doesn’t hesitate to add new ways to expand his horizons when it comes to making music. And in comes his newest album FLUKIN’ — which does the job of introducing his sheer talent as a musician perfectly.

Exploring a new side to his sound while staying true to his roots, Silvan came up with FLUKIN’ that focused more on a live recording process that veered away from the usual programming approach by opting for real-time playing and improvisation instead.

The result of this effort is a collection of songs that are both spontaneous and raw, capturing the intimate essence and a whole new version of Silvan’s musicality that has yet again captured the hearts of listeners.

Blending together hip-hop, experimental music, and jazz — several songs in the album such as ‘BOWIE’, ‘JÖRGI, MY DEAR’, and ‘GIRL’ are prime examples of tracks in FLUKIN’ that highlight the musical beauty that Silvan was able to capture by aligning his direction for the album into more unorthodox territory.

As the name of the album implies, Silvan was able to strike gold with the many “lucky” gems he was able to create with the several talented artists that he was able to collaborate with for FLUKIN’ — and the result is an album that is buttery smooth from beginning to end for everybody to listen to and appreciate.
