After a six-year break, The Young Mothers returns with their long-awaited third album. The band, founded by Norwegian bassist Ingebrigt Haฬker Flaten, brings together an explosive mix of free jazz, hard-hitting punk energy, and hip-hop rhythms. If the rest of the album matches the quality of the two tracks streaming below, we’re in for something exceptional!
Last week, Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, and improviser Macie Stewart announced When the Distance is Blue, her debut album for International Anthem, out March 21st. The albumโs lead single โSpring Becomes You, Spring Becomes Newโ is streaming below for your listening pleasure.
Keyboard player, composer, collaborator, and producer Joe Armon-Jones is set to release โAll The Quietโ (Part 1) โ his first new solo album in six years. His third studio LP, this magnum opus, is an epic two-part album comprising 20 songs, with โPart Il’ released March 28th and โPart 2โ released June 13th via his label Aquarii Records.
English producer Nathan Fake x-plores Canadian bowed guitarist and multi-instrumentalist C. Diab and creates a masterful piece of electronica with โLunar Bargeโ. The result is a glitchy, modular breakout made up of bit-crushing hi-hats, broken beats and sub-soaring synths as it reaches a euphoric finale. Taken from C. Diabโs forthcoming x-plored release – out May 2, featuring Hinako Omori and Flora Yin-Wong.
The third instalment of Isle Of Juraโs Instrumental Dubs series features five diverse, dubwise tracks. Side one explores the axis of UK street soul and reggae while side two features ventures into funky and electro realms. Grab the 180g heavyweight vinyl with full sleeve jacket design by Bradley Pinkerton – be quick, they won’t hang around long!
