Organic Pulse Ensemble to release new LP on 2 Headed Deer Records

Our day is always brightened by emails from Guillermo and Sergio from 2 Headed Deer Records. Founded in 2019, this independent label based in Cantabria (Spain) is now releasing its sixth project, and there’s no slowdown in quality.

Having released music on such noted labels as Urban Waves and Tramp Records, next month will see the release of ‘A Thousand Hands’ by Gustav Horneij’s Organic Pulse Ensemble.

This Swedish band consists of one individual, the mega-talented Horneij, who records his songs by multitracking multiple instruments, including saxophones, flutes, trumpet, guitar, keys, drums, electric and upright bass and various types of percussion.

Pulling inspiration from ethiojazz and eastern sounds, and never one to be tied down to a specific style or structure, Horneij keeps pushing the boundaries, especially on the more lengthy tracks where he focuses on different paths in terms of composition, especially the progression of the music.

This album fuses the intensity of free jazz, with the meditative and mystical feeling of the spiritual approach of the genre.
