A new album by Sun Ra Arkestra, led by the evergreen 98-year-old Marshall Allen, will be released by Omni Sound on October 7th. Nineteen musicians, including a string section, recorded the album Living Sky in one day, June 15th, last year at Rittenhouse SoundWorks in Philadelphia. As a prelude to the upcoming album’s release, they have shared the song ‘Chopin’, Sun Ra’s first studio rendition of Chopin’s ‘miniature Opus 28 No. 7’.
