Here’s our second premiere of the week, another superb reimagining of a classic. DJ, producer and musician Lorenzo Morresi, alongside 22a label boss, producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Tenderlonious, take on Bruno Martino’s classic jazz standard, ‘Estate’.
The pair entirely transforms the track’s aesthetic by dropping Martino’s slick vocals and turning up the tempo to create an uplifting instrumental number. Over a beat fit for the finest dancefloors, a gorgeously delicate flute melody effortlessly glides above all kinds of bubbling guitar work and sizzling electronics.

This reinterpretation sounds so fresh that it could easily pass for a completely original composition.
Since the release of their debut single ‘Cosmica Italiana,’ and subsequent offerings, expectations for their full-length album have grown. Still, the album exceeds them with first-rate musicianship, glorious arrangements, refined fusions of Italo jazz-funk and Italian library style, and well-crafted production.
Their approach to Italian instrumental music is fresh and forward-looking, and we know you’ll love it, too.
“With this project we’ve done our best to deliver our own interpretation of this wonderful era of Italian music and rediscover a beautiful genre, whilst maintaining a strong respect and admiration for the sounds that the original Italian masters created. Their records impressed and inspired us and we hope it will be the same for our listeners today.”
Cosmica Italiana will be released on 29th July on 2XLP/CD/Digital.
