Speaker Music is releasing a new EP, Soul-Making Theodicy

DeForrest Brown, Jr aka Speaker Music has a new EP on the way.

The multitalented artist follows up his stunning ‘Black Nationalist Sonic Weaponry’ with a four-track EP titled ‘Soul-Making Theodicy’.

Speaking about the idea behind the record, he explains that ‘Soul-Making Theodicy’, is based around a sample of a developing gestural praxis of electronic drumming inspired by percussionists such as Rashied Ali, Max Roach, Metro Boomin and Steve Poindexter.

Speaker Music recorded the new collection by hand using haptic rhythm synthesizers via iPad and Push alongside a 49-Key MIDI Controller––routed through Ableton and mixed live into stereophonic paintings or further abstractions of rhythm and soul.

Just as spectacular as his last outing, listen to the lead track Ex-American Blues. Set the volume to high and press play!

We can’t wait to hear the rest of the EP when it lands on 25th March.

Tracklisting:

1.Ex-American Blues

2.The Inconvenient Truth

3.Hi-Tech Blues & Trap

4.Rhythmatic Music For Speakers (Mk.II)
