London-based outfit Caravela returns with a new track ‘A Macirira’ an uplifting and utterly relaxing song, which is taken from ‘Orla’, their upcoming debut LP.
It’s a beautiful foretaste to an LP that finds the band blend an intoxicating mix of Afro-Brazillian rhythms and contemporary London jazz drenched in modern psychedelic and progressive textures.
Following the melodic recipe laid down on their 2017 self-titled EP, ‘A Macieira’ is an impressive and vibrant slice of contemporary jazz that we’re eager to hear more of pretty damn quick.
Listen to A Macieira below, and grab the download here. ‘Orla’, arrives on 27th February 2021 via None More Records – pre-order from Bandcamp.
Press notes:
Hypnotic and groove-laden percussive rhythms tie together all the different elements Caravela are bringing to the table, from Afro-Brazilian influences like candombole music or the tropicalia of Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso with some darker, electronic elements reminiscent of Radiohead, electric era Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock.
