If you’re a fan of the kind of experimental, avant-garde jazz made by the likes of Art Ensemble Of Chicago, and Archie Shepp, you’ll love Finnish quartet Oaagaada.

The ensemble features Tuure Tammi (trumpet), Sami Pekkola (sax), Tero Kemppainen (bass) and Simo Laihonen (drums).

‘Oag-ada / A Swimming Trip’ both brilliantly showcase the band’s ability to create fiery and free-flowing jazz music with strong avant-garde leanings. 

A breath of fresh air, the explosive trumpet and sizzling sax notes are heavenly plus the way the tracks tosses and turns with a groovy entrancing underbelly of bass and drums makes for an exciting listening experience.
