Islandman channel Anatolian psychedelia and ritualistic rave on new LP

Kaybola exhibits the Turkish trio’s original brand of spiritually guided, global electronica.

With their second album titled ‘Kaybola’ set for an official release in the UK on 1st May, Islandman are giving us a little look at what to expect with ‘Dimitro’.

Led by multi-instrumentalist and producer, Tolga Böyük, alongside Eralp Güven (percussion) and Erdem Başer (guitars), the trio’s distinct sound draws on a luxurious pool of influences across the 70’s psychedelic music scene in Turkey including, Eden Ahbez, Can Kozlu, Okay Temiz and Baba Zula.

Check out the opening cut Dimitro, a dancefloor belter, with middle eastern-inspired 808 bounce, Bulgarian wedding song vocal samples, funk-tipped bass groove and psychedelic four to the floor vibes.
