Jake Milliner has well and truly pricked our ears. The South London producer connects with fellow Londoner Alfa Mist (keys) and multi-instrumentalist and producer Marcus Tenney (Trumpet) from Virginia.
We’ve had our eyes on Milliner ever since his elevating soundscapes, smooth arrangement and production laced Hawk House’s 2014 track ‘Chill Pill’.
With its twinkling Dilla-type beat, subtle keys combined with the swinging trumpet lines ‘Reminisce’ ticks all the right boxes and had us hooked from the first note.
Watch out for his debut album “Bernie Says” arriving in October and featuring the likes of Joe Armon-Jones, Howard McNair, Bubblerap ( Hawk House), Eun and 25.
The striking artwork for the project is based on paintings by London artist Stuart Ruel.
