London-based quintet Kinkajous are releasing their debut album, Hidden Lines, this June via Running Circle.
Recorded by long-term collaborator Jim Macrae (Jordan Rakei) at Old Paradise Audio, the nine-track LP mixes jazz to orchestral, world and electronic into an intuitive exploration of sound and time.
Commenting on the album, the band explains, “Hidden Lines has been a sculpting process, an ever-evolving flux. It has been a constant search through a world of possibilities, discovering infinite layers as we reminisce on fading memories.“
Hidden Lines follows last years single ‘Jupiter’ and their highly acclaimed 2016 EP ‘Staring At The Odds’.
Ethereal and arresting, listen to the lead track Black Idiom Pt.2 which explores the themes of memory and experience.
Everything from the driving drums to the soaring sax lines is on point, blending together to deliver one of the bands most striking offerings to date.
