Yesterday, songwriter, producer, DJ Adam Scrimshire shared the first taste from his as-yet-untitled fourth album.

Appropriately titled Won’t Get Better, the song features the multi-talented Emma-Jean Thackray, who plays the trumpet and provides the vocals on the track.

Combining his exquisite and soulful production with Thackray’s warming tones and graceful trumpet lines as the perfect complement.

The track is mellow yet bubbling with life, with relaxing jazz vibes yet exciting Afrobeat and UK garage energy. It really doesn’t get much better than this!

“Won’t Get Better had a convoluted birth. The rhythm that underpins it was originally programmed for a different project, but when the new record started taking form, I dug it out, recorded drums for it, and emailed Emma-Jean. She was so excited about this, and the energy is clear throughout. Emma wanted to blend elements of garage and Afrobeat, and I was completely there for that.” Scrimshire
