Following his Portals LP in 2017 multi-instrumentalist and composer Robert Stillman returns to Orindal Records with his new album, called Reality.
The new ten-track record represents a return to his formative, early influences in the recordings of John and Alice Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, and Albert Ayler.
Named in part after a concept music writer Virgil Moorefield called “Reality of Illusion”, the album may sound like the work of a band when in fact it is a multi-tracked ensemble of one, in which Stillman plays saxophone, clarinets, drums, and piano.
Our first taste from the forthcoming record comes in the form of ‘What I Owe’, a fascinating track that finds Stillman is such fine form.
The Reality LP arrives on February 22nd. Pre-order it here.
