Rising Virginia trombonist/composer Reginald Chapman recently released the first track from his upcoming debut album, Prototype.
According to the label “the whole record is about finding your creative groove and reinventing yourself. “
The albums second song ‘You Go to My Head’ features vocals from fellow Virginia musician Sam Reed and is the records only track to spotlight a guest appearance or lyrics.
Subtle in its delivery, we instantly fell in love with Reed’s soulfully sweet tones, of course, it’s needless to say that Chapman’s bass trombone interjections are equally arresting alongside rich instrumentation from his band of players.
We can’t wait to hear what else he has in store for us! The album drops on July 26th via Fresh Selects.
