Australian drummer, percussionist and composer Laurence Pike has teamed up with director Alex Smith to create a live performance video for his track Distant Early Warning.
The track is taken from his recently released debut solo album of the same name. The 6-track album was originally conceived as a technological and spiritual jazz suite for drums, recorded live in a single day the LP is a series of solo performances for kit and sampler.
“For a long time I’ve been feeling there’s a central part of my musical voice that didn’t have an outlet,” Pike says. “So this album is definitely a product of inner necessity.”
The video shot at the Golden Age Cinema in Sydney and you can watch it exclusively above.
Distant Early Warning is out now via The Leaf Label – buy from Bandcamp.
