What makes Vels Trio‘s music that extra bit special is their willingness to traverse new ground, making each track an adventure into the unknown. Take new single ‘The Wad’, which sees the trio turn in a pysch-fuelled electronic groover of the highest order.
We’re told that the track is about a game of catch with a £1k wad, at 2am in a motorway service station car park.
Sounds like fun, well the track is exactly that with the trio channelling everything from Thundercat to the likes of Todd Terje, The Wad offers us a catchy electronic melody that you’ll have on repeat again and again.
It follows last years debut EP of prog-jazz fuelled madness, Yellow Ochre on the freshly minted imprint Total Refreshment Centre Records.
