Chip Wickham returned last month with a bang with the ‘Barrio 71’ as well as news of Shamal Wind his brand new album. He’s now followed that up with another electrifying tune called ‘Snake Eyes’.

Where predecessor ‘Barrio 71’ was an Art Blakey-style, percussive outburst of energy in 6/8, ‘Snake Eyes’, though still highly danceable, is a more laidback affair, tapping into the meditative exaltations of modal jazz, with Wickham’s intoxicating transverse flute taking the lead.

With the new album around the corner, we can’t wait to hear what else the talented artist has in store for us next.
