South London label Albert Favourite’s drop a strong remix package of “Bulb,” a track from Hector Plimmer‘s excellent debut album Sunshine, one of our favourite album’s of the year.
Undoubtedly one of the moodiest, bassist cuts on the album. The track finds Plimmer in his element evolving found sounds into voodoo beats. The noise of a tapped light bulb provides the core of this piece, driven forward by marching kick drums and rim shots interrupted only by occasional synth interjections.
Here, we have the exclusive premiere from London producer Deft who navigates us through a heavily beefed-up bassline, wonky and off-kilter rework on his “2010 Throwback Remix”. Dark and distorted this re-rub has something for both the headphones and the dancefloor.
The release also comes with a dubby rework by Sarathy Kowar and a brand new track called Sleep Easy. Pre-order here.
