Mark de Clive-Lowe is back on the grind again with a new four track EP recorded live at Los Angeles’ Blue Whale jazz club. Featuring an impressive of collaborators like Josh Johnson on sax and flute, Brandon Eugene Owens on bass and Gene Coye on drums. The EP finds the uber talented Lowe meshing organic instrumentation with the technological world of keyboards and electronics.

Today we’re shining a light on the lead track “Evergreen,” a solo piano kicks off the song, and as the track unfolds into a head-nodding, beat- driven journey of casual creativity we hear MdCL programming beats and electronics live and on the spot. Meanwhile, Johnson’s sax creates a musical palimpsest inspired by hip hop’s sampling aesthetic.

Live at the Blue Whale arrives on February 17th pre-order here. While we wait for the release of the EP give your ears a treat with the spectacular “Evergreen” below.

Live At The Blue Whale is out February 14th (pre-order)
