Sahel Sounds and Mississippi Records team up to present their new international imprint “Songs from Home.” Kicking things off with a four -track release of dreamy instrumentals from Amadou Binta Konté and Tidiane Thiam. The four songs found on the EP were created during an improvisational session of acoustic guitar and hoddu, drawing on regional folklore, ancient praise songs and epic ballads. The EP was recorded in a fishing village in Northern Senegal, with an ever-present backdrop of children’s voices culminating in a clapping and stomping rhythm section.
