Ruth Koleva Shares Two Tracks From Her Forthcoming Rhythm Slave Remix Album

Ruth Koleva

Hot on the heels of a critically acclaimed debut album, Ruth Koleva presents a collection of remixes.  The The Bulgarian artist has got together with some of the most exciting names across the jazz, electronic and soul worlds to rework “RUTH ,” including Zed Bias, Kaidi Tatham, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Eric Lau to name a few.

We’re featuring two cuts from the album, first up is Kaidi Tatham’s remix of ‘What Am I Supposed To Do’. The West London producer adds more urgency to the track without sacrificing the forlorn melody at the heart of the song. Tatham rings out every last bit of frustration in the vocal before taking us on a little excursion with one of those signature solos.

Next up, Eric Lau strips down ‘Turn This Around’ and uses a neck-snapping beat to counterpoint Koleva’s ethereal harmonies. It’s a stunning rework and Koleva loves how it’s a “completely different vibe to the original”.

The album is not out until July 27th, but in the meantime, take a listen to these two gems.
