London-based singer/songwriter/producer Shura a.k.a. Aleksandra Denton crafts another delicate song for our listening pleasure. We’re still gushing over “Touch” her debut track that’s sure to feature on many best of lists at the end of the year. Her latest offering, proves that she is no one trick pony. The track is titled “Just Once,” and it’s a touching story about escaping a broken love, carried by disarming pop hooks and subtle electronics nuances. Following a similar tone of “Touch”,the singer shows her insecurities with refreshing lyrical honesty,“If you get my name wrong, I won’t get pissed off because I wish I was somebody else”.
There is still no mention of an EP or an album just yet but Just Once will tide us over for the foreseeable future.
With the quality of her releases it’s easy to forget that Shura is still at the starting point of her career and is only just starting to define her sound, so perhaps next year we’ll be hearing a bigger project.
