Christian Rich aka DJ and production duo and twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Hassan, recently dropped their debut EP called ‘SS14.’

The duo who have been steadily building their reputation as producers since the early 2000’s under the guidance of Pharrell Williams and Shae Haley of N.E.R.D, have collaborated with artist such as Lil’ Kim, Clipse, Foxy Brown, Armand Van Helden, mentors N.E.R.D., and Rye Rye. Last year saw the duo making a big splash with contributions on four of the year’s biggest releases — J. Cole’s Born Sinner, Earl Sweatshirt’s Doris, Drake’s Nothing Was the Same, and Childish Gambino’s Because the Internet.

Having dropped the dreamy left-field cut “In Between” some 9 months ago the brothers are finally stepping into the spotlight to get some shine for themselves.

The four tracks on their debut create a collage of vintage and vanguard that immediately sets them apart. Lead radio track, ‘Better To’, features both LA band DWNTWN and the Now Faith Apostolic Church Children’s Choir, assembling a dance floor chic surround from the best tricks of the Chicago, Paris, and Detroit production camps. ‘A1‘, featuring M.I.A. cohort, Rye Rye, bangs pure attitude on top of a translucent tropical electro-sleaze, whilst ‘Real Love’ sounds simultaneously like the female reply to Daft Punk’s ‘Something About Us’, and straight-up ‘erection section’ two-step that the ghosts of Minnie Riperton and J Dilla have both had a firm hand in.

Christian Rich are making music on their own terms blending elements of electronica, hip hop, R&B and pop into every record. Keep an eye out for these Chicago go-getters!

Take a listen and purchase the SS14 EP from iTunes or bandcamp.
