It’s hot, it’s sunny, and our latest guest playlist, courtesy of Orbital Ensemble‘s Felipe Sena, is the perfect soundtrack for it all: 14 gems built for long, glowing days.
We’re currently enjoying Contínua, the second full-length by Orbital Ensemble, which dropped last week via We Are Busy Bodies. The new album pushes the group’s neotropical psychedelic sound into more ambitious and collaborative territory.
Written and co-produced by Toronto-based, Brazilian-born multi-instrumentalist Sena with co-writers Artu Bastos and Dan Mclay, the album features expansive arrangements and special guests on vocals, strings, and harp.
Recorded primarily live off the floor with additional overdubs, the record captures the band’s magnetic force while continuing their vision of blending Brazilian musical heritage with contemporary psychedelic and jazz exploration.
To celebrate the release of Continua, Sena has kindly curated a playlist of inspiring tracks. We couldn’t be more excited to share the superb playlist Sena has put together, a window into the sounds and influences shaping the band’s world. It’s eclectic, warm, and full of charm. Give it a spin.
