The Leftovers

Treat your taste buds to these mouthwatering leftovers!

Keeping up with the daily flood of music is impossible. We try to share everything, but gems slip through the cracks. That’s where The Leftovers features come in; each Friday, we serve up five tasty morsels that we couldn’t let slip away, hoping you’ll discover something new and special. This week, 9ms, Love Is Yes, Blue Earth Sound, and more. Dig in and savour the finds.

I’ve been following 9ms ever since Tome landed in my ears back in 2021, and I’ve been sharing their music ever since. When their debut album Pleats arrived, I was fully hooked – a seamless blend of krautrock, dub, trip‑hop, and traces of world‑music. The experimental musical duo consisting of Munich-based drummers Simon Popp and Florian König, return to Squama with their third album ‘Lunch’. As the press release explains, “the album incorporates Dub-infused IDM, cinematic slow jams and off-kilter drum workouts giving the daring DJ plenty of material to treat dancefloors and listening rooms alike.” Serving as the lead single, ‘Court’, is a swirling, drumtastic wall of sound.

Having already charmed us with their delectable self-titled debut album, Kit Records signees Love Is Yes unveil four spooky new tracks to usher in their second album, Ghost and More Ghosts. Still rooted in their serene motorik gleam, Ghost and More Ghosts slips into a darker realm, tugging gamelan, organs and vocoders through the portal as the duo melt into the mist. If these are the opening shots, the album could be a real treat.

Producer Benedic Lamdin aka Nostalgia77 has two albums set for release this year, of which ‘When The Lights Gone’ is the first. A set of simple songs in primary colours, it explores Lamdin’s familiar themes of memory, time, truth and identity. The opening number, ‘You Were In My Dream Last Night,’ featuring the soft tones of Yosa Peit, is below for your listening pleasure. Press play and sink into the vibrant, full‑colour sonics of Nostalgia 77.

Blue Earth Sound returns with ‘Chartreuse’, and it’s just as groovy as anything on his killer debut album. Just over three minutes long, the track glows with a hazy, layered groove. Enjoy the track below and look out for the new EP, The St. Louis Sessions, out July 19th!

Alex Nut follows on from 2025’s ‘Present Under Construction’ EP with his new single ‘Bright’ featuring longtime Eglo Records affiliate Steve Spacek. The record delivers a rich, forward-thinking fusion of House, Broken Beat, Soul and Jazz, capturing Alex Nut’s eclectic, deep-rooted musical sensibility, providing the perfect canvas for Steve Spacek’s signature falsetto. On ‘Bright, Alex Nut continues to affirm his reputation as a producer who bridges scenes and sounds, further adding to Eglo Records’ ever-evolving catalogue.
