The Philadelphia-based artist, trumpeter and educator features the following as something of a mission statement on his website: “I use music to build community, inspire joy and generate growth”. It’sa wonderful sentiment that exudes humility and an unwavering passion towards the music that he makes. With past releases through Ropeadope Records, Giess’ current project in Untethered are enjoying a fantastic run of releases that showcase their penchant for high-energy and improvisational music and performances. With current project ‘Phronesis’ due for release this week, we’re thrilled to induct Paul’s incredible music selections as part of our Twistedsoul guest mix series.
