With Ryto Vėjas ir Mėnulis (Morning Wind and Moon), international jazz-rock collective Ari Tsugi captures the fleeting beauty of connection in a single breath. Recorded live in one take at Glasgow’s Glad Café, the album fuses the improvisational pulse of jazz with the dreamy hues of psychedelic rock and the rhythmic sway of Brazilian music, an unbroken dialogue between eight musicians from six countries.

At the heart of their sound is lead vocalist Alma Rechtman, a rising star on the French music scene. Alongside her are Mashu Harada, Clément Gaud, Joe Weisberg, Alex Palmer, Mischa Stevens, Mateusz Sobieski and Angus Macdonald – each bringing their own voice to the collective’s rich dialogue.

‘The Mėnulis pt. II’ drifts like moonlight over water, guided by Rechtman’s ethereal vocals and Harada’s gauzy guitar textures. It’s tender, melancholic, and alive with quiet urgency. In contrast, ‘Ryto Vėjas pt. I’ surges forward with sunlit percussion and spiralling saxophone, evoking the promise of morning after a long night.

Producer Vilo Jokubaitis preserves the warmth of the room; every breath, scrape, and pulse feels human and unrepeatable. Ari Tsugi doesn’t chase perfection; they embrace impermanence. Ryto Vėjas ir Mėnulis feels less like an album and more like witnessing dawn itself, fragile, communal, and impossibly alive.
