The Leftovers

Treat your taste buds to these mouthwatering leftovers!

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for “The Leftovers.” Savour the different flavours with these five amazing bite-sized servings of new releases. This week, Secondo, Tibshelf, Cantrips, Julia Mestre, and Ife Ogunjobi.. If youโ€™re digging the tunes, support the artist by purchasing and sharing their music.ย Tuck in and enjoy.

Italian visionary electronic musician Secondo bridges past and future on โ€‹forthcoming new album of kosmische-tinged club electronics, Over Under. Listen to the brooding electro-soul lead single ‘Perlomeno’.

None More Records share Tibshelf’s new single ‘Cruncher’, taken from the upcoming None More Rollers Vol.2 EP. Drawing inspiration from some of his favourite producers like Lee Perry, RZA and Basic Channel, Tibshelfโ€™s almost โ€˜plunderphonicsโ€™ approach has delivered a killer, eclectic EP of weirdo, bass-heavy rollers. Kicking off the EP is โ€˜Cruncherโ€™, a 100bpm chugger built around a lilting melody line and a big industrial beat, reminiscent of something the Sabres of Paradise might have turned out on Sabresonic II.

Cantrips is the solo project of Melbourne-based musician, DJ, and producer Patrick Ryan, who creates textured, groove-driven landscapes that blend acid folkโ€™s warmth with immersive arrangementsโ€‹.ย Taken from the upcoming debut LP ‘From A Darebin Cave’, the brooding instrumental single ‘See You Soon’ is the album closer and offers a cinematic left turn from the rest of the record. With its evocative production, it embodies the groove-driven cinematic sounds that define ‘From A Darebin Cave’ while pointing to the next chapter in Cantripsโ€™ evolution. Check it out below and look out for the album which arrives in May.

The first single to be taken from Bala Desejo band member Julia Mestreโ€™s forthcoming album. Sun-drenched Balearic airiness mixed with a Brazilian boogie groove and city pop sensibilities.ย โ€œSou Feraโ€ is one youโ€™ll keep coming back to.ย

London-based trumpeter Ife Ogunjobiโ€™s take on the classic Kurt Weill composition Speak Low is the latest single released from the forthcoming Chet Baker Re:Imagined album.โ€‹ Take a listen below.
