Dave De Rose – Vene Morali (TS Premiere)

The upcoming album by Dave De Rose called Rituals brings light to political conflict, moral standings, and general unrest. The album will drop on 7th February and consists of 25 organically produced multi-instrumental tracks that sprung from his observation and opinion of current world events.

The album’s track “Vene Morali” presents a funky cacophony of several instruments and softly crooned lyrics to convey a heavy message. “Vene Morali” means moral veins. The track starts with groovy shakers, accompanied by a jazzy electric guitar tune, which is soon joined by more percussion sounds. Moreover, the combination of English and Italian lyrics speaks the song’s message over the steady rhythm as the track fades.

Sonically speaking, the track is a mix of urban jazz and electric. Lyrically speaking, the track reflects the numbness and dissociation people have forced in themselves to cope with current humanitarian disasters happening in the world. It questions the moral standing of people who choose to go about the day as though none of the current events concern them.

Dave De Rose composed Rituals as a strong societal message surrounding the events that unfolded after October 7th and the loss of human lives. De Rose sought solace in divine rituals and practices to keep himself sane, and the project was born as a result.

Conveying his ideals and philosophy through his music, he sounds a clarion call against Western supremacy and the widespread luxury of ignorance that allows many to detach from real-world issues, resonating throughout the album.
