Hailing from France, England, Denmark and Switzerland and brought together by a shared passion for exploring global sounds, “In The Sun” by Yuuf is a meticulously crafted sonic escape to a tropical paradise. The music conjures images of sun-drenched beaches and swaying palm trees with its warm, joyful guitar tones that serve as the backbone. The subtle handpan notes add a layer of exotic flair, creating a serene and uplifting sound. Delicate basslines provide a gentle yet rhythmic pulse, perfectly complementing the melody without overpowering it.
Soft-focus drum fills tie everything together, offering a light and airy percussive element. This harmonious blend of instruments results in a rich, immersive experience that transports listeners to relaxation and bliss.
The group consists of Anthony Boatright (English) on bass, Hugo Cottu (French) on guitar, Oliver Overgaard (Danish) on drums, and Andrin Haag (Swiss) on handpan and percussion.
On the EP’S inspiration, the quartet explain : “In The Sun is the first piece of work we’ve created as a band. We wrote the five songs of this EP in early 2023 and to us, they reflect the sound of spring. We‘ve put a lot of warmth into them and found inspiration in Battersea Park, which is just a short walk away from our recording studio.”
