Experimental psych-jazz band Valia Calda is back, and theyโ€™ve brought a shiny new double single featuring Maddalena Ghezzi and master Albanian violinist Aurel Qirjo. They’re picking up right where their previous LP, ‘Homeland,’ left offโ€”exploring tales of homeland and migration. This emotional journey touches on the thousands of people braving the Mediterranean Sea, passing through the band’s homelands in Greece and Italy, all in pursuit of a brighter future in Europe.

May we present a fresh face in the scene: hailing from Brazil but currently chilling in London, itโ€™s the one and only MOMO! Fresh face, we say? He’s gearing up to release his 8th album, Gira, on Batov Records. He’s corralled a bunch of top-tier musicians, guests from London’s jazz community, and fellow Brazilian artists. They laid down the album at East London’s iconic Total Refreshment Center, capturing every note on good old-fashioned tape. Catch ‘Jโ€‹รฃโ€‹o’ the breezy first glimpse of the album below.

Fantastic tidings from the charming crew at the Leaf Label: Laurence Pike is back with his boldest album yet. “The Undreamt-of Centre” is an evocative, modern reinvention of the requiem mass. Tune in to the first glimpse, “Introit”, right below.

Hold on to your headphonesโ€”Bastien Keb has a shiny new EP on the horizon! Born in Keb’s cosy home studio, the EP “Songs from Lilla” exudes unrefined, earthy charm. Each song spins its own tale, with Keb’s soulful vocals and complex instrumentation crafting a lush sonic tapestry. Hit play and let those folky, soulful psychedelic vibes serenade your eardrums.

Singles’ Kolida Balkanesque’ and ‘Free For All’ offer the first taste of the forthcoming album ‘Spirits Of Mauronoros’ by Greek woodwind duo Kolida Babo on Veego Records. Kolida Babo is a collaboration between two Greek musicians from separate regionsโ€”Socratis Votskos is from Pella, and Harris P. is from Athens.
