Experimental psych-jazz band Valia Calda is back, and theyโve brought a shiny new double single featuring Maddalena Ghezzi and master Albanian violinist Aurel Qirjo. They’re picking up right where their previous LP, ‘Homeland,’ left offโexploring tales of homeland and migration. This emotional journey touches on the thousands of people braving the Mediterranean Sea, passing through the band’s homelands in Greece and Italy, all in pursuit of a brighter future in Europe.
May we present a fresh face in the scene: hailing from Brazil but currently chilling in London, itโs the one and only MOMO! Fresh face, we say? He’s gearing up to release his 8th album, Gira, on Batov Records. He’s corralled a bunch of top-tier musicians, guests from London’s jazz community, and fellow Brazilian artists.
