We’re starting the week with a very special guest mix from Italian composer, arranger, and producer Eraldo Bernocchi. Gaining international renown in the ’80s co-founding the conceptual audio project Sigillum-S with Paolo Bandera and Luca di Giorgio. For over 25 years, he’s scored music for adverts, film, produced numerous art installations.
In 2008, together with music lover Giacomo Bruzzo, Eraldo founded cutting-edge imprint RareNoise Records. With a career that crosses all musical boundaries, he’s teamed up with countless artists including Bill Laswell, Nils Petter Molvaer, Harold Budd , Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Merzbow, Russell Mills, Toshinori Kondo, Raiz and Almamegretta, DJ Disk, Thomas Fehlmann, Zu, DJ Olive, Markus Stockhausen, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, Robin Guthrie, Colin Edwin, Balazs Pandi, Hoshiko Yamane, Flowdan among many others.
His upcoming album, “The Same and The Other,” is a collaboration with British composer and experimental artist Christopher James Chaplin, and it also includes visual art from graphic designer and video artist Petulia Mattioli who has worked with Eraldo since the 90’s. ‘The Same and The Other’ blends minimal electronic tweaks, haunting melodies, slow-paced textures, and layered ambient sounds. It’s dropping on June 28th through Curious Music.
