Tryp Tych Tryo – Three Colours Of The Sun (TS Premiere)

“Three Colours Of The Sun” is a track by the innovative trio Tryp Tych Tryo from their forthcoming album “Warsaw Conjunction,” a notable debut for 2024.

This trio consists of Wojtek Mazolewski on electric and acoustic double bass, Natcyet Wakili on drums, and Tamar Osborn on flute, baritone saxophone, and delay effects. Each member is on the frontier of the modern jazz scene. Their playing style comes from their ability to utilise modes, polyrhythms, and other intricate musical concepts without sacrificing sound. Their music incessantly morphs and transforms throughout the track, allowing the listeners to dive headfirst into a convoluted labyrinth of auditory sensation.

‘Three Colours Of The Sun’ starts with a slow and deliberate melody on the flute over an eerie reverberation of ostinato and sporadic crashing cymbals. The baritone sax soon joins the mix, with its deep tone we are introduced to the drum groove and the bass motif of this track. After that comes Osborn’s flurry of pitches on the flute. This juxtaposition of heavy bass and jazz drums with traditional flute work offers an unsolicited ride deeper into the listener’s own psyche.

This is a pensive exploration of inner worlds, experiences, and perspectives. These peerless artists bend and break time itself with their immaculate temporal manipulation. In some instances, time becomes stagnant, and with flawless precision, it is revved up again, jarring the sense of comfort and familiarity. The sublime flow of this track showcases the compatibility of this trio. They seamlessly blend their own ideas with each others’ storytelling, sophisticating the grand allegory of sounds.
