With his debut solo project, The Otium Mixtape, just out via Underdog Records, KILEDJIAN, the creator and producer behind Afro-Caribbean outfit Dowdelin, has compiled a guest playlist for Twistedsoul.

The album finds KILEDJIAN traversing the world’s four corners, embracing diverse musical genres, including jazz, hip-hop, and electronic avant-garde. It takes its name from Otium, which refers to the ‘active idleness cherished by the citizens of ancient Rome’.

“The idea was to limit working hours to what was strictly necessary so that people could remove themselves from their daily lives and be fully devoted to the wandering of the mind, believing that without which there could be no great human discoveries, cultural or scientific advancements.”

We are thrilled to have him curating this playlist, which features an exquisite selection of tracks reflecting the various moods and textures that have influenced his unique sound.

Listen to the playlist below and read KILEDJIAN’S thoughts on his selected music.

“Both these songs and the artists who created them are very special/dear to me. They all share this prog jazz-funk-ish mood with a particular attention to sound textures I’m sensitive to.”
