The Closest Thing to Silence is the intriguing collaborative album between new age music legend Ariel Kalma and International Anthem recording artists Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer. On February 2nd, the exciting result of their collaboration will arrive, and we’ve already caught a sweet snippet of the album with the soothing yet rhythmically throbbing sonics of ‘A Treasure Chest’.

In August 2022, Kalma, was asked to join a series of unique collaborations on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction program. This show has a wonderful concept – it paves the way for artists who haven’t previously collaborated to create music together. Chiu and Honer were thrilled to get an invitation, especially Chiu, who has been an ardent fan of Kalma’s work for a long time. He even credits Kalma as having a big impact on his own techniques in composing electronic music.
