When Bristol band Tara Clerkin Trio releases new music, it’s a good day. In the years since releasing their self-titled album in 2020, their musical output has been rather sparse. An EP, a few solo endeavours and a stunning ten-minute piece by a trio marked these in-between years.

Those who love them (like us) can rejoice since they are back with a new release called On The Turning Ground, a 5-track EP featuring “26 minutes of probing, thoughtful composition that draws from no one specific source.”

The band’s Bristol roots lie at the heart of their compositions, embracing the city’s “rich musical heritage built on fwd-facing electronic subcultures and experimental urges”.

Ahead of the release, the trio have shared the lead single ‘The Turning Ground’ which comes with an accompanying visual created by the band. Mostly mild grooving, this track is packed with musical ideas and sounds cool. Invest some time in listening and watching it.

On The Turning Ground Tracklisting:

1. Brigstow
2. World In Delay
3. Marble Walls
4. The Turning Ground
5. Once Around
