Yes, this sounds like a bit of us! Gigi Masin and Greg Foat are two prominent musicians who have significantly contributed to the musical world. Masin is an Italian composer and producer known for his ethereal and dreamlike compositions that blend ambient, classical, and electronic music. Foat, on the other hand, is a pianist, composer and producer, known for his ability to create meditative cosmic jazz, funky grooves, and cinematic soundscapes through his music.
On 16th June, the duo will release Dolphin, their first collaborative album via Strut. Admirers of each other’s work, with Foat praising Gigi’s ‘Wind’ and Masin citing Foat’s ‘Symphonie Pacifique’ as influences, together they have created something uniquely beautiful. An exquisitely crafted, beautifully textured blend of kosmische, jazz, vintage soundtrack elements, and ambient, ‘Dolphin’ transports you to a balmy sundown oasis.
Along with the album announcement, Foat and Masin share the video for the lead single ‘Viento Calido’, a fusion of textures and rhythms that embraces the senses.
The subtle drumming and unfurling bass lines on the track are provided by Moses Boyd and Tom Hebert, who feature throughout the upcoming album.
The track is now streaming with an equally soothing video accompaniment made by Berlin-based design studio Ulises.AI. Check it out below.

“The live music played by myself, Moses and Tom on real instruments, blended organically with the digitally created music by Gigi. To me there’s no overarching theme to the album, other than I love Gigi’s music and wanted us to record together. The oil painting featured on the album cover – also called ‘Dolphin’ – is by my cousin Niul, and provided a broad inspiration for the feel of the record”
