Nubyian Twist member Jonny Enser aka Matters Unknown shares new solo single

New track from multi-instrumentalist and composer Jonny Enser aka Matters Unknown. The collective of players includes some of the UK’s finest players. Led by Enser, they create a light and breezy Afro-jazz funk sound. Propulsive rhythms open ‘Hewester’, which intensifies as layers of lush instrumentation are added, including a deeply soulful piano, delicate strings and Enser’s delightful trumpet lines. While Nick Richards’s vocals hold the track’s layers together, creating a harmonious and intriguing sound.

Released on the New Soil imprint (Theon Cross / Ill Considered) the track follows on from the self-released singles ‘A Beginning’ and ‘BlindSpot’ (feat. Mohamed Gueye).

“This song portrays the joy of finding those whose angels and demons dance with yours in such sweet harmony. An ode to bassist Alec Hewes outlining the necessity for emotional commune and intimate bonds also featuring long-time musical companion Nick Richards providing weighty vocals and lyrical alto stylings. Hold on tight to your roots when they’re coming for you. Because they’re coming for you.”
