Jackson Mathod – Brazil Nut (TS Premiere)

We’ve been fans of Jackson Mathod since we heard his Afrobeat infused track ‘India’ a few years back. He continued to impress us with his collaboration with Harlequin. Shuddering synths and glitchy electronic beats set the stage for Mathod’s sumptuously swirling trumpet notes.

So it’s with massive pleasure that we premiere his latest cut, ‘Brazil Nut’. An uplifting journey through jazz grooves, lively Latin rhythms, and Mathod’s mighty trumpet. The ever-inventive synth wizard James Beckwith does his thing on his instrument of choice. The result is a thoroughly entertaining and thrilling listen.

“Brazil Nut is a tribute to all the figures of Latin Jazz that have inspired me over the years. I wanted to create that very simple melodic line and add a trademark steady groove and let the band flow really”.

The track is the first release on the new label partnership from New Soil and Bridge The Gap.
