Portico Quartet will release a new four-track EP called Next Stop, recorded at the same sessions that produced the acclaimed Monument album.
The duo’s Monument album was lauded as one of their most direct and accessible records to date upon its release in November last year.
Following Monument is Next Stop, a pulsating, powerful four-tracker with an elegiac side and perhaps a fitting coda to the album.
You can get a sense of the EP by listening to Youth, a nostalgic track with a dreamy sax melody countered by a low-slung low-mo hip-hop drum beat. However, the beautiful strings make this song something special.
