Ano Nobo Quartet‘s latest single comes from their upcoming The Strings of São Domingos album, featuring call-and-response vocals and Cuban Guaracha twangs. Released through the prestigious Ostinato Records label, the 15-track collection of traditional and rhythmic songs pays homage to one of the island’s best-known composers, Ano Nobo. The quartet is led by Pascoal, a former student and soldier in Cabo Verde’s armed independence struggle. On the album is Pascoal, Fany, Nono, and Afrikanu.
