Berlin-based Swedish bassist Petter Eldh and his Koma Saxo ensemble are back with a new album, and its lead track ‘Koma Kaprifol’ is streaming below for your listening pleasure.
‘Koma Kaprifol’ is a meditative track; with a sense of urgency and anticipation in the air. The graceful yet forthright composition will particularly captivate jazz fans. Part concept album and taking inspiration from the Swedish West Coast the kaprifol in the track’s title is the landscape flower of Bohuslän on the West coast, where Eldh grew up.
The new single marks the launch of their third album, ‘Koma West’; pre-order it here. This March, released via We Jazz Records, the hard-hitting quintet of Eldh, Christian Lillinger, Otis Sandsjö, Jonas Kullhammar and Mikko Innanen continue their sonic adventures.

With vocalist Sofia Jernberg and a strong cast of featured artists, including cellist Lucy Railton, violinist Maria Reich, pianist Kit Downes and accordionist Kiki Eldh (Petter’s mom! ), the album expands upon their previous style.
We can’t wait to hear what Koma Saxo has in store for us with the rest of the album.
