“I want the listener to enter an ecstatic meditative state” – Cloud of I
I received an email from Ballantyne Communications informing me about the Global Arrivals, a new curatorial programme and initiative that gives young artists from around the world a media platform.
First up is Cloud of I, an Israeli singer and guitarist who, as the email says, “makes rather psychedelic music, looking back to 1970s Californian sunshine with a nod to future folk music with electronica and generally very lush sounding.”
Get acquainted with Cloud of I and her psychedelic acid folkery and intense, layered electronic euphoria full of influences from the Middle East by clicking play on her debut track Sail Away below. The song is lifted from her debut EP titled ‘Gazing’, set for a vinyl release in July.
There isn’t much more to say, so stop whatever you’re doing and press play. You won’t regret it!
Press notes: Cloud of I is part of Global Arrivals, a new curatorial programme and initiative that gives young artists from around the world, who don’t fit traditional boxes and genres, a media platform ensuring their music gets worldwide attention aimed at raising the profile of artists with limited resources or promotional know-how.
