MidnightRoba – Don’t Let This Change (TS Premiere)

MidnightRoba is the solo project of Roba, singer of band Attica Blues and, more recently, collaborator with King Britt on his 2019 Moksha Black release ‘As It Should Be’.

Early next year Roba will release her self-written and produced debut solo album titled Golden Seams. The first taste is ‘Don’t Let This Change / Safe With Me’ a double release that offers tales of love, openness, and a voice that speaks as much as it listens.

We’re delighted to share today our pick of the two cuts ‘Don’t Let This Change’ almost five minutes of calming jazz textures and electronic flurries, layered with her beautifully addicting vocal harmonies.

The slow and tender track presents a woman with a full range of life experiences communicating her love and appreciation to a special someone whom has seen and heard her for who she truly is.

If you’ve had a stressful day, then this is the jazz-drenched, soothing music that your ears have been craving for.

Look out for the album which is out early in the new year, but for now tuck into ‘Don’t Let This Change’ below.

Press notes:

A London-born Egyptian, Roba (pronounced Rob-a) has a voice that has always been present, yet in this stage it holds the weight of wisdom that adds strokes of confidence and assurance. The uniqueness of what she shares is old and new, understanding a past tense forging together pain and promise. A new nostalgia indeed. Stay and listen.
