After releases on Optimo Music and Inner Ear, Greek artist Yannis Veslemes lands on London-based record label Byrd Out. His new EP imaginatively titled I Know Where You Live Vangelis! features four original tracks and six remixes that doff a cap to the great Greek composer and musician Vangelis. 

Speaking about the project, Veslemes explains: 

“Four Movements in 4/4. Hedonism of the modern city reflects on these marbles of the past. Oh Athens, you are not so shiny after all… Kenneth Anger’s Egypt rises now on our land of Minotaur. Just connect the dots. We’ ve just turned this old Byzantine church into the new Pleasure Dome. Still dancing in the candlelight. Sunday morning breaking in his backyard. He turns on, tune in, work this CS80 with a temperament. I know where you live Vangelis!”

Today, we’re excited to bring you Veslemes exclusive Greek focused mix. 

The mix features a collection of tracks from Greek artists, old and contemporary that finds him delving into rare records, a few re-released tracks and some unofficial re-edits. Most of the tracks have in common mythology or paganism, some songs come from ancient poetry, some sung in ancient Greek, and others are post-punk, city-oriented and quite aggressive.
