Finnish multi-dimensional artist Jimi Tenor is releasing a new album, titled ‘Aulos’, via Philophon this October.
To get us in the mood for the LP he’s also dropped a new 7” single.
On one side you’ll find ‘Sugar And Spice’ where he’s joined by Ghanaian drummer Ekow Alabi and German producer Max Weissenfeldt.
The song is perfect for the hot summer days ahead. A bouncy bass with hip chords, sharp horns, sweet vocals and Ekow’s rolling beat are the key ingredients of this song.
On the flipside ‘Lover’s Bridge’ may recall classic Sun Ra compositions from the ’50s and early 60s. A singing organ calls some heroic horns while the flute plays on hypnotic grooves.
The new double 7″ follows Tenor’s 2019 single Vocalize My Luv which featured the vocals of two glorious gospel queens Florence Adooni and Lizzy Amaliyenga.
Look out for the album out later this year, but for now, stream the new tracks below! Pre-order here.
