Julianna Barwick recently announced details of a new album.
‘Healing Is A Miracle’ is the Los Angels-based artists first album with new home Ninja Tune, and will be released on 10th July.
She’s also shared the records second track ‘In Light’ featuring Sigur Rós’ Jónsi which follows on from lead track ‘Inspirit’.
The eight-song record began life in spring of last year, when Barwick sat down with her vocal looping set-up and began sketching out some ideas for new solo material. “It had been so long since I had done that,” she recalls, “making something for myself, just for the love of it… it was emotional, because I was recording music that was just from the heart, that wasn’t for an ‘assignment’ or project… it brought me to tears a little”.
The album features contributions from a trio of close musical friends electronic producer Nosaj Thing, harpist Mary Lattimore and Jónsi.
The new LP follows her Circumstance Synthesis EP and comes four years on from Barwick’s last full-length project, 2016’s Will.
